After the virtual invasion of Indian smartphone market- particularly the lower and mid-segment, by Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo, among others, Samsung too has buckled up with equally competitive devices and the latest to join the contest is Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime.
Launched yesterday in India, this highly anticipated device is set to compete with Redmi Note 4- pegged as the best selling smartphone in India. So let’s take a look at how it stands up to the challenge-
Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime Specs
Sporting a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) PLS TFT LCD display, the device is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC with 3GB/4GB RAM- depending on the variant. One of the major improvement that the device has over its predecessor can be easily spotted in the camera. It flaunts a 13-megapixel CMOS rear sensor with a f/1.9 aperture for both front and back cameras. The only difference being, the front camera does not have Autofocus while the rear camera does.
The connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro-USB, and the beloved 3.5mm jack. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the home button and the phone supports dual nano SIM along with a dedicated MicroSD card slot. The device is available in two variants- 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, both which can be expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD card.
While most of the specs and features are on par with other phones of its range, the newly introduced Samsung Mall can be considered a truly unique offering- especially aimed at those shopping enthusiasts. It lets users search any product (even through pictures) across multiple eCommerce stores and if that isn’t enough, it also comes with a “universal cart” feature that makes it possible to make purchases from many different sites without ever leaving the app.
Price and availability of Galaxy On7 Prime
