Honor 10 to Launch Today: The Notch, the Dual Camera and Everything We Know So Far

The Chinese giant Huawei which sells smartphones under the brand name Honor seems to be a streak. Last month it took everyone by surprise with its Flagships P20 and P20 Pro that sported the best smartphone camera, ever! Then there was its Honor 9- dubbed as the most beautiful mid-range handset with ample power under the hood. Now its successor is coming- Honor 10.

set to be launched today in China, let’s have a final round up of the expected specs and you can tell us how much of it we got right. To start with the display, yes, it will have a notch on the 5.84-inch end-to-end display of resolution 2280 x 1080. But here is the interesting part- while 18:9 aspect ratio is now the general expectation, it may come with an even taller form-factor of 19:9.

Under the hood, it will be powered by company’s homegrown top-of-the-self Kirin 970 chipset. Expected to be available in two variants- 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, the devices will probably cost around 27K and 36K respectively. In the optics department, they will have a dual-lens setup at the back with 16MP+20MP shooters, possibly dual-LED flash and a 24MP lens at the front.

There is also something else. In press invites for the launch event, the company has stressed its focus on AI through a tagline “Beauty in AI”. We aren’t sure what exactly that means but given that the processors and cameras these days make extensive use of these technologies, we expect the phone to have a few tricks up its sleeves. Overall, in its signature Twilight color, premium-grade quality, and powerful hardware, the device already seems a winner and we can’t wait to get our hands on when it hits the store on April 27.
